Dear Michelle (and other teachers)
Thanks for the email and informed note about the nursery. We will definitely try and keep the door closed. With 2-3 teachers it is fine, but what if a mom brings a baby into the room or like a 1 year old into the room that is not old enough to do the crafts? Do you then split the teachers into both rooms? Last week Kekeli was in with the toddlers doing a craft and I held a baby in the other room for part of the time. It seemed some of the toddlers liked the rug for the babies, that is why they wanted to be in the other room. So maybe we should get a rug just like that room for the preschoolers as well. Then they might want to be in there.
Yes–can we have a desk or table for the parents to sign in. Maybe we can put the desk/table outside the doors to sign in and out. It is difficult to do it inside the room. So just 2 desks/tables with the sign in/out sheets on them. That would help.
Yes a stereo would be great. One is broken but the other one works. And yes we should lock it away each week. Can we get another clock too to put into the nursery. Then we know when the parents might be coming by to pick up the kids. We usually listen for music and praying, but it would be good to have a clock.
How is the painting coming along? the mural? Were you able to find a template?
Unfortunately I will not be there on Thursday to help with the room, but I will be there Sunday. It looks like there are enough teachers for the preschool teaching, but I might bring my son, 11 months old into the nursery to play and walk around.
Blessings and hope to see you Sunday!
Michelle
